Hey guys! Unfortunately with certain life events that have just recently come to a screeching halt, I haven't been working on much of my fine arts as I would like and I have not been on DA very much. But another reason is because I've been playing with another form of art. The Green Thumb I have inherited from both sides of my family has been rearing it's head and screaming: USE ME! Last year was the start of it all, but this year, I have been expanding and creating gardens since the ground started to thaw in March. So far, the amount of added garden has exceeded 1,200 square feet and I still have one more I have to extend. So the art of gardening has been bouncing around in my mind, especially the new/huge Bird, butterfly, and hummingbird garden. So far everything doesn't look that impressive, but that's just because most of the plants are seedlings or not matured. But it's already my favorite place to sit in the mornings with the hummers and other birds getting their breakfast in the feeders while I drink my coffee
And I've found that even though I'm technically pretty new at this, I've got quite the knack with growing and tending to plants.
For me, art is creation. Although I'm not currently creating worlds on canvas and paper, I'm helping create and sustain life in my gardens. Successfully nursing a sick plant back to health or tending to a young plant and helping it grow brings me as much peace and joy, if not more, than the fine arts. Watching a flower bloom and feed the bees and hummingbirds and knowing that I helped it is an individual piece of art in itself.
BUT I do want to take my still life/life sketchpad and sit out there and sketch the progress. *looks outside* Just as soon as the outdoor cushion dries off... lol And who knows. I may sketch in Rin and Sesshomaru in my gardens
I've been wanting to go back to drawing them for a long time but have lacked the motivation. But the thought of Rin in the gardens has spurred my imagination into action!
